Dr. Jeffrey Botkin is a professor of pediatrics, medical ethics, and human genetics at the University of Utah, and serves as the Associate Vice President for Research Integrity. Dr. Botkin is a nationally prominent expert on medical ethics, including the ethical, legal, and social implications of genetic technology. He has authored over 100 articles and is a frequent speaker to national audiences on ethical issues in medicine.

This presentation provided an overview of the science and promise of stem cells in medicine. Arguments both for and against the creation and use of embryonic stem cells in research will be presented.
